Circus Display

I invited the very tallented designer and illustrator, Kirsty Thomas (Lovely Pigeon) to create a window display for The Red Door Gallery’s festival exhibition in 2011.  The result was this fantastic circus themed composition!  Kirsty launched a brand new playkit which was aimed at encouraging big and small kids to get creative. The circus kit includes all your favourite characters to cut out, colour in, slot together and play… Meet The Ringmaster, Bearded Lady, Tiny Tiny Elephant, Bespectacled Bear, Mr and Mrs Acrobat and many more. Lovely Pigeon was inspired by her love of handlebar moustaches, clever animals and monochrome pattern to create this entertaining little playkit.

In 2011, before the design duo relaunched, Tom Pigeon was run by Kirsty Thomas alone and was called Lovely Pigeon.  Lovely Pigeon hosted “A Right Royal Pop Up” in anstruther and I was invited to contrubute artwork along with a stash of upcycled ceramics… if memory serves, I helped out in the shop too!

The List Magazine cover photoshoot from April 2011, back when they were a well loved printed publication.  This special feature issue was devoted to works made in Scotland.  I gave contributions to this display from The Red Door Gallery and Elsie Dodds.  Loved the final design!
